Queen of Contradictions

A new space in Seattle's oldest neighborhood

Who says you can’t be all things to all people? Not lower Queen Anne—known for its historic architecture but also its high-tech companies. For views of mountains and water, but also iconic Seattle landmarks like the Space Needle. For tourist attractions, but also vibrant and quirky neighborhood cafés, bars, music and shops. For fresh, local dishes but also mouthwatering cuisine from around the globe. For dive bars and high-end cocktails, and the people who are drawn to each. (We could go on and on, but you get the picture.)

Seattle

With bike lanes on most streets and easy access to bus lines, you can easily walk, pedal or bus wherever your heart desires throughout Seattle.

That’s why Vivid gets high marks from Walk Score, the leading international walkability index:

Channeling History

You’d never suspect such a welcoming neighborhood started with a glacier. Formed by the Vashon Glacier more than 13,000 years ago, Queen Anne hill was once home to Native Americans of the Shilshole, Duwamish and Suquamish tribes, who camped at the hill’s base to gather fish and shellfish.

The first construction on lower Queen Anne went up in 1869—but it wasn’t until a severe 1875 windstorm blew down trees and opened up breathtaking views of the water and mountains that growth really took off.

The first streetcar labored up and down steep Queen Ann hill shortly after the turn of the century. In 1962, Seattle hosted the World’s Fair in lower Queen Anne, at what is now the Seattle Center. The world-famous Space Needle was built for the occasion, and other landmark attractions, including the Pacific Science Center, cropped up in the aftermath.

Now one of Seattle’s most iconic and vibrant neighborhoods, lower Queen Anne remains a popular gathering place for locals and visitors alike.

FAQ

How do I find VIVID?
Tap your heels together and whisper, "There's no place like home..." (we've heard that works). Or find us at 219 1st Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98109, in the historic lower Queen Anne neighborhood.
How long are your lease terms for renting an apartment?
Just the right length. We offer up to 24 month leases paying the same rent for 2 years with no increase!!
Do you allow pets?
Yes! We love your furry BFF (or feathered BFF. Or smooth. We don't discriminate against the hairless). We welcome one pet per apartment, with a $300 pet deposit. We even have a 24/7 pet turf area, complete with flushable doggy potty. (Some breed restrictions apply) please contact us for details.
Are there pet fees?
There is a $20 per pet, per month additional rent charge.
What are the move-in costs?
Pretty standard stuff: First month's rent, plus a security deposit of $1000-$1250, depending on the unit (rarely will a last month's rent be requested).
Is there an application fee?
Just an eensy one. You will pay a one-time $40 application fee.
Are utilities included?
We like to play fair. So unlike some buildings, where utility costs are divided equally among apartments, at VIVID you only pay for what you use–your apartment is metered individually, so you just pay for your own water, sewer, electricity and gas for hot water. Garbage service is a flat monthly fee of $20.
Do you have bike storage?
We have a bike locker located in the garage for a $15 per month rental fee.
